Your membership is important to many ways.  For the organization, your membership gives us more influence with public assistance program policy makers in establishing sound procedures and rules that strengthen the integrity of public assistance programs across the North American continent.  Your concerns can be addressed to program administrators and help amend current program rules and procedures that provide an avenue for those who leverage weaknesses in the social services program rules for their own monetary gain.

You annual dues help fund the operation of UCOWF.  The United Council on Welfare Fraud is a non-profit organization and relies on its members and its conference revenues to provide the financial foundation for its continued existence.

Being a member of a professional organization has its value in terms of what it can do for you.  Our membership directory gives you an instant source for contacts within and outside of your state or province for investigative assistance.  The UCOWF Listserv gives you access to all subscribed members who receive the listserv messages and who can provide information and feedback on operational or administrative issues that your agency faces.  The UCOWF Newsletter provides information on current activities and planned events such as the Annual Training Conference as well as notice of emerging trends reported in public assistance fraud.

As a Certified Welfare Fraud Investigator, your skills and level of professionalism have been tested and measured.  Among peers, a CWFI has distinguished him or herself by achieving and maintaining the level of skills and knowledge that can be the difference when being considered for advancement.

Thank you again for remaining a member of the United Council on Welfare.
